A Missional Minute
How does who we are in Christ, (or our formation as Christians) help us be missional? Have you ever wondered what your prayer life, practices and overall formation has to do with being missional? It’s vital! In Genesis, we hear that we are made in God's image. In a way, we might say that we reflect who God is through our words, deeds, and even in the way we make decisions . At our best, we reflect the God in us. This reflection of God who is love becomes an opportunity for others to get to know God's character. The closer we are grafted to God, the more we reflect God's love, mercy, forgiveness, kindness and so on. Some of the ways we grow closer to God are through practices like prayer, meditation, worship and other spiritual practices. As we spend time in the presence of God, we become a clearer reflection of the God who loves us. We don't always have to speak brilliantly about God or answer a question with theological precision to reach out with the good news of the Gospel. Sometimes, being missional is about living our lives grafted to God and being a walking, living, breathing advertisement for people who are curious to increase the peace, grace and mercy in their lives which they see in ours. |

78th Convention of SynodSaturday, October 24, 2020 An historic 78th Convention of Synod was held on the Saturday morning of October 24, 2020. Our thanks goes out to the all the clergy and lay delegates for their patience and grace as we met the Canonical requirements for holding a Synod in this very "unprecedented" year. We congratulate those who were elected to attend Provincial Synod in 2021 and General Synod in 2022. We wish to thank the outgoing members of the 2017 - 2020 Diocesan Council, and look forward to working with the newly elected members and those still to be appointed by Archbishop Greg. Good job, everyone!

Villages Calgary Shopping EventPWRDF Fundraiser Villages Calgary (formerly known as Ten Thousand Villages) has again this year generously invited PWRDF to partner with them for a shopping event. Due to Covid-19, there will be a limit of 20 shoppers at a time which should not be a problem. They are also offering us an online service so you can order and pick up, or choose to have items delivered by mail. The good news is that this year out of town parishes will be able to take part in this event. Buying from Villages is a benefit all round: it supports the artisans, gives custom to Villages, and 15% of the proceeds go to PWRDF. Please let all your friends know about this great opportunity. |
