Missional Minute
In our day-to-day interactions with others, we often don't know the missional influence we may have on another person. It may be something we say, or don't say. It may happen as we listen - are we meeting their eyes or checking our watches? Are we truly listening to them or formulating our response? Are we consciously being missional to each person we meet and interact with? Many years ago, I was at a gathering, and a woman I didn't know well came over and chatted. Then she asked, out of the blue, "How can I pray for you?" At that time, the first thing that came to mind was concern for my son, living out of his truck in another city. So I gave my son's name to this woman and she wrote it down on a little pad she kept in her purse. Years later, this woman wrote me a short note. She said she was still praying for my son. Her question to me all those years ago and her sharing of her faithful prayers, in all its simplicity, was astounding to me. It was a reminder of how God uses each one of us, through our words and actions with others, to share His love, to support one another in our journies of faith, and to build His kingdom. May we each see ways God is calling us to reach out to others with His mercy and grace |

We ask for wise discernment in our leaders; - for those who are sick, suffering, isolated or in need. We ask for prayers for Barbara and Elizabeth, Janice, and Larry; - for those who have died and those who mourn; - for the poor, the homeless, and the needy in our communities; - our Indigenous brothers and sisters, and their leaders in our diocese and country; - refugees, remembering those fleeing regimes around the world, and those fleeing war in the Ukraine.
