St. Peter's VBS was fin-tastic!Jesus is My Lighthouse shone brightly in July St. Peter's Calgary hosted a Vacation Bible School for the first time in many years from July 14-18, and it was a huge success! Seventeen children had a whale of a time at the Jesus is My Lighthouse VBS – singing, dancing, gluing, painting, playing, praying and learning about Jesus, through a series of nautical-themed snacks, crafts and songs, and we're so grateful to the amazing team of adult and teenage volunteers that made it possible – with Jesus' help, of course! (Special thanks also to Holy Trinity Calgary and Holy Cross Calgary, for letting us shanghai some of your parishioners to serve in our crew, and for enormous contributions related to the props and scenery.) FREE TO A GOOD HOME -- One 6' styrofoam lighthouse, several styrofoam ocean waves, cardboard mooring posts and other assorted lighthouse-themed props and scenery pieces. With our Jesus is My Lighthouse Vacation Bible School behind us, St. Peter's has no need for these items, but we would love to pass them onto another church for future VBS activities, drama productions, etc. Interested parties are asked to contact First Mate Rob (aka Rev Rob Petkau | rev.rob@stpeterscalgary.ca, or 403 252 0393, extension 12) by August 31 to claim these items and make arrangements for pick-up. (Special thanks to Holy Trinity, Calgary for providing the styrofoam and related materials, and to Holy Cross, Calgary for construction and storage assistance.) |
