Resources for Prayer
Friends in Christ,
The Primates’ Task Group, on which I served, presented its final report to the Primates’ meeting in January. Included in its work was a key recommendation to ask Anglicans worldwide to enter a season of repentance. We are deeply aware of the pain of division in our midst. All have shared in hurts given and received. In the spirit of Matthew 7:3-5, a call to prayer and self-reflection in repentance has been made for Lent 5 – March 29, 2020. We also requested that the International Anglican Liturgical Consultation prepare common liturgical resources, including a Eucharistic Prayer, that could be used for gatherings where we are especially remembering and celebrating our Anglican family. Those resources may be found at the same site (above).
Lastly – a Lambeth Conference Prayer Diary and special collect for the Conference are on the same page.
God of Life,
in baptism you give us new birth into a living hope,
calling us into your marvellous light that we may live as your people;
bless with the Sprit’s presence all who will gather for the Lambeth Conference,
that their work, prayer and fellowship may bear fruit to your glory,
and inspire people everywhere to walk, listen and witness together
as disciples of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please encourage your diocesan family to use all of these resources. Prayers for and with one another change hearts, open possibilities and invite us to see where God is at work beyond our own limitations. As we prepare for Lambeth 2020 and continue to deepen our relationships across the Anglican Communion - “The Lord be with you - Let us pray…….”
