The Calgary Anglican Cursillo Movement is a movement of the Church providing a method by which Christians are empowered to grow through prayer, study, and action and enabled to share God's love and grace with everyone.

The Cursillo Movement is a tool for the spiritual maturity of lay people and clergy in our Diocese. It is available and encouraged for every adult with a desire for spiritual leadership.
The Weekend, starting Thursday evening, consists of brief talks by lay persons and clergy, followed by discussion and sharing in small groups. There is no fasting or long periods of silence, but rather lots of great singing, daily Anglican Eucharists, time for walks through the woods, and all the great food Entheos provides. Any questions should be answered honestly - no secrets should be kept.
Cursillo is designed to foster our relationship with Christ. The Cursillo website explains: "The Cursillo method helps individuals understand their calling to be Christian leaders. This leadership may be exercised at work, in family life, in social life, in leisure activities, and within the church. Cursillo is not a substitute for your parish church. Rather, it is designed to help you renew and enhance your Christian life, and to enable you to function more fully within your parish."
The Cursillo Weekend is a step in what is designed to be a lifelong experience with Jesus. After the Weekend, we must always come back to the real world, so there are two other components: First, regular monthly gatherings called "Ultreyas" (Spanish for 'onward') continue the encouragement in a larger group. This ongoing support helps us to find the words and the courage as we risk sharing our faith. Second, there is the Group Reunion, a small group who meets regularly to encourage each other in day-to-day Christian living, similar to a cell or home group or a Bible study.
The Fall Men's Weekend this year is October 30 to November 2, and the Women's Weekend is November 6 to 9. Both are accepting registations. There will be Weekends offered again in the Spring 2026.
If you are interested in attending, contact someone you know who has gone, access the website, or contact the Lay Director, Gerald Ingeveld.
