An announcement by Archdeacon Wygiera
Earlier this week I was in touch with friends in the Diocese of the Windward Islands. Archdeacon Weekes from St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Archdeacon Marshall from Grenada, and Bishop Friday all report being well and safe. I asked Bishop Friday if there were specific things he would like us to pray for when we in the Diocese of Calgary remember the Windward Islands in our prayers. This was his response:
"We request your prayers for those who have the responsibility of managing the response to the Pandemic, especially those in the frontline and those who have contracted the virus and their families."
"We also request your prayers for those who are now unemployed, whose businesses are closed, and students who are not sure when schools will reopen and for the aged and less fortunate and our ministry to those who are sick and the needy."
"Please pray also for God's guidance on the leaders of the Church at this time as we seek to manage at this time and to determine the way forward in the midst of suspended services, fall off in offerings and no fundraisers with the challenge of meeting our expenses: clergy stipend and ministries."
