The Diocese of Islands and Inlets looks forward to hosting a national event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Priesting of Women in Canada on November 24 and 25 in Victoria, BC. Programming and a celebratory Eucharist will be held on these days.
Please support anyone coming from your diocese as you are able, such as encouraging use of Continuing Education Funds for those who can access them. We aim to have participation from across Canada which means travel costs will vary considerably.
There is money for bursaries that has generously been made available through grants from the Anglican Church of Canada and The Anglican Foundation of Canada. An application for bursaries can be found here. Successful bursary applicants will be notified by August 1.
The registration fee is $210.00. Participants are expected to make their own travel and hotel arrangements. We have negotiated corporate rates of approximately $200/night with three local hotels. This rate may increase between now and the November event. All hotels are within a ten-to-thirty minute walk from the conference venue. Please call and let the hotel know that you want the corporate rate negotiated by the Diocese of British Columbia for the nights associated with the event (23, 24, 25 of November, 2026). The three hotels are: Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour; Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel; and Inn at Laurel Point.
