Providing Indigenous episcopal leadership would be in keeping with the direction that has been
called for by the Anglican Council of Indigenous Peoples (ACIP) and would be both a sign of
and real action toward living into “The New Agape.” Having an Indigenous person who is well
known and highly respected amongst the indigenous people in southern Alberta recognized by the Church in this way and also empowered to further the work of the Gospel within Indigenous communities and raise up local leadership for that ministry, has the marks of the Spirit’s leading.
